The wait is over. The final iteration on the Nike Attack Social Status ‘Status Symbol’ is dropping on March 8th. It will be available at Social Status online and in stores. The SNKRS App will also have them available on release day. I am sad to see this story come to an end. Like every great sneaker this collaboration came with a story.
Social Status ‘Silver Linings’
The story began in a community that I was familiar with from my childhood. The two best days of the month was the 1st and the 15th. Everybody had a little money in their pockets and smiles on their face.
Q the hero of the story begins his journey working at a convince store to earn snacks that he could then flip for cash. This hustle resonated with me as that was my middle school hustle too. Q is serving the neighborhood while focusing on early money for some sneakers and eventually enough to help out his mother.
Throughout the episode we meet members of the community. Some of them are there for Q and some have other things in mind. Throughout the episode we see glimpses of the Nike Attack x Social Status ‘Silver Linings’.
Social Status ‘Social Currency’
The second episode we find Q still hustling his snack game. All the while trying to figure out how he can increase his cash flow. This is something that many of us can relate to especially those of us that come from little.
In communities there are always individuals that have the nice car or the freshest kicks that kids look up to. There is one individual that may not have Q’s best interest in mind. Throughout thus episode we see glimpses of the Social Currency.
Social Status x Split Visions
The third episode gives us a look at the third silhouette. The Nike Attack x Social Status “Split Visions” pops up in a sneaker store case. Q runs into Drip. after having his bag stolen. Q is trying to figure out to recover from his loss.
As Q walks into the Drip’s store he get a look At the Nike Attack ‘Split Visions’ with the gray leather and aged midsole. Drip shows Q how to diversify his side hustle.
Social Status x Status Symbol.
In the final episode Q takes the lessons he learned and goes to work. He cutting grass and washing cars. Q is almost confronted by his “business partner” but Power steps in.
Power intervenes and diffuses the situation. Next Q and Power are playing chess and discussing life. Q makes it to graduation and we see him lacing up his sneakers. The Nike Attack “Status Symbol”
The Nike Attack x Social Status “Status Symbol” features cracked white leather throughout. An aged midsole sits on top of the black star pattern outsole. The Swoosh, ankle, and heel sport tear away black Satin that reveals Hairy suede.
The Nike Attack comes in a special box wrapped in Social Status newspaper. It comes equipped with sail laces and two additional pairs. The insole list each Social Status location like a grocery list. The fit runs a little narrow, but nothing I would shy away from.
Look for the Nike Attack x Social Status “Status Symbol” to launch March 8th. It will be in store and online at 10 a.m. The retail price comes in at $140. Like the other releases I do not expect this part to sell, but still don’t wait too long.
The Nike Attack x Social Status collaboration is one of my favorites. The story of Q hustling to get those fresh pair for graduation is what the sneaker culture is about. Each shoe is crafted with with quality materials and detail. I am glad to see the story end with a positive message. Until the next review check out our sneaker release guide.
