Nike has collaborated with HBCUs to create the the Nike Terminator High Slim & Husky. The Slim & Husky is one of four that have recently released. Most recently the Moorehouse College and Spelman have dropped.
This Slim & Husky is a nod to Tennessee State University Alumni. Slim & Husky is a pizzeria located in Nashville Tennessee. This Nike Terminator High dropped on November 10th via the SNKRS App for $150. Surprisingly this was an easy cop for my first pair of Nike Terminator Highs.
I was on the fence about these mainly because of the multiple colors and materials. After getting these in hand I was glad to pick this pair up. The combination of materials was done well.
The Details are Next Level
The overlays were done is a creamy white leather that will stand up to frequent wear. The toe, ankle, and heel are wrapped in faux horse hair. The faux hair might not hold up well from heavy use as it looked pretty distressed after minimal hamdling.
The attention to detail was next level with 1918 embroidered on the lateral forefoot. The laces sport gold tips. While the heel dons a “T” for TSU. The royal blue tongue feature Slim and Husky branding. The next step was figuring out how to style these.
Styling the TSU Terminators
I started off with basic tan khakis. Considering I am 41 years old you will not see me in ripped or skinny jeans. I like to keep it simple. For the top I went with a basic black Nike Moving tee. To cap things off (no pun intended) I picked a Brooklyn Royal Giants snapback. I figured if we’re paying homage to HBCUs then lets include the negro baseball league.
