Last week’s sneaker releases were pretty quiet. Jordan dropped an Air Jordan 3 inspired by Mexican wrestling. Paul Rodriguez released a bred version of the Zoom Air. This week’s sneaker releases will be quiet, but there are some drops worth watching.

This week Footlocker is bringing another New Balance 1000 exclusive. NBA guard Tyrese Haliburton releases his first signature shoe. Jordan Brand is bringing back a favorite from 2011. Let’s get into this week’s sneaker releases.

September 26th Sneaker Releases

Puma Hali 1

Embossed Puma logo
  • Colorway: Blissful Blue and Royal Sapphire
  • Style Code: 313450-01
  • Retail: $130

Indian Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton gets his first signature shoe by way of the Puma Hali 1. The Hali 1 was designed by Salehe Bembury. This is Bembury’s first Puma design and it does not disappoint.

This tonal blue color blocking sports an engineered mesh upper. For additional support the TPU cage wraps around the mid foot. One thing I like about this is how the laces are integrated into the cage for additional support.

The reinforced toe cap provides stability when pivoting on the court. On the lateral side is a raised jumping Puma logo along with Haliburton’s logo on the tongue and heel in a light blue. The nitrogen infused midsole (NITRO FOAM) sits on top of an icy outsole with a grippy traction pattern.

I only own one pair of Pumas but this might be the second pair I pick up. If you are interested these will be available in men’s sizes and retail for $130. Check out Puma, Footlocker, or Social Status to grab a pair.

September 27th Sneaker Releases

Air Jordan 5 Retro T23 ‘Tokyo’

Maize nubuck suede upper
  • Colorway: Varsity Maize, Wolf Grey, Black, and White
  • Style Code: IO3372-700
  • Retail: $215

The Air Jordan 5 ‘Tokyo’ was a limited release from 2011. This Air Jordan 5 dropped as part of the opening of T23 in Japan. Fourteen years later we are getting another shot at capturing sneaker history and I am excited.

The upper sports a bright yellow finish on the nubuck suede. Contrasting black hits accent the show throughout. On the reflective 3M tongue is an embroidered Jumpman logo. The heel sports the same Jumpman logo as well.

Grey pop can be found on the molded eyestays and outsole. On the side is translucent netting a mainstay for the Air Jordan 5 model. The polyurethane midsole is finished in black and white accented by yellow speckled shark tooth detail. Of course we get the visible air unit and icy blue bottom we have to come to love with this silhouette.

It looks like this Air Jordan 5 ‘Tokyo’ will still be limited as it is only available on the SNKRS app and Feature. That may change as the week goes on though. These will be available in men’s sizes and retail for $215.

That does it for this week’s sneaker releases. It was short and sweet but still packed full of heat. Puma is dropping a debut kick for Tyrese Haliburton. Jordan Brand wraps up the week with the return of a fan favorite. Let us know in the comments which pair you are going for. Until next time check out the best Air Jordan 8 colorways.
