Social Status brought us another collab that is more than just sneakers. The Whitaker Group worked with Charlotte Lab Schools (CLS) for this collaboration. CLS is a charter school located in Charlotte North Carolina.
During the pandemic, CLS and the Whitaker Group met virtually weekly to work on this project. Students learned about marketing, sales, and design. Their inspiration for the design came from the vibes during summer break. The students created two colorways (yellow and grey). Grey is one of my go to colors so I got the grey pair first.
The gray pair features Nimbus Cloud hairy suede on the toe and heel. The outsole’s triple color comes in pink, cloud white, and pistachio green. The stitched logo is also done in pistachio green and outline in blue along with the sock liner. The midsole is two tone with pink and cloud white throughout. This release was limited to 1500 pair for each colorway. There are still pairs available in both colorways in most sizes. Check out social status‘ online store to pick up a pair.
