Grey tumbled leather on the eye stays

Nike pays homage to a legend with the Jackie Robinson x Air Force 1. Last year Nike released the Jackie Robinson x Dunk Low. It was delayed and received a lot of attention. It was a problematic shoe to pick up for retail. This AF1 dropped with little chatter. It was only available on SNKRS and Social Status both via draw. I was able to secure a pair at the $150 price tag.

Royal blue textile Swoosh

The shoe comes in a black AF1 box with silver letters on top. Typical of what we have seen from other releases. Out of the box the Leather Quality hit me. The upper is wrapped in off-white tumbled leather. While the eye stays and toe are done in grey. The signature swoosh is a royal blue textile that wraps around the ankle. The lateral ankle features Jackie’s number 42 in red to match the heel’s baseball stitching.

White laces with ‘Change the World’ in black lettering

The royal blue textile on the tongue is offset with the Brooklyn Dodgers ‘B’. Jackies Robinson’s famous quote ‘Change the World’ standouts against the white laces. The lace jewels have ‘1947’ and ‘1956’ engraved. These were the years Robinson debuted in the MLB and retired from the MLB respectively. The speckled outsole is a speckled translucent bottom that wraps the shoe up. The Jackie AF1s dropped on April 15th with a $150 price tag but sold out quickly.
