In today’s sneaker world often times waiting means missing out on the latest release. If you really want a certain pair then it comes down to are you willing to pay resell for that those Jordan’s or A Ma Maniere collaboration. I have found in some cases waiting can be beneficial.
Most recently New Balance released the Stray Rats x 580 collaboration. Now while $160 price tag isn’t a bank breaker I have three kids. So sometimes picking up every pair is economically feasible. That is where Ebay comes in.
Having released in October of ’22 finding a pre-owned pair wasn’t hard. Resell companies like GOAT and Stockx have plenty. My go to 95% of the time is Ebay. Ebay gives buyers the option to negotiate prices with the offer feature.
It didn’t take long to find a deal. I was able to pick up the Dark moss pair for $65. This was $100 under retail. I was not disappointed when they arrived.
There were no stains, scuffs, or substantial wear. Now came the fit. I paired these with a paired of Levi’s 511, a graphic tee I picked up from Gamestop, and a Basspro trucker hat. When it starts to get cool my favorite outerwear piece are flannel shirts.
I wore these for about four hours and was pleased with the comfort. My son and I went to the local museum so the 580s got 8,000 steps real quick, but I could not tell. The rollback midsole provided extra comfort and stability to chase a toddler around. If you are looking for stylish pair of sneakers that are also comfortable I would definitely pick up a pair of these 580s.
