Its March so that means it Air Max month. We got new releases that include the Air Max ‘Royal and the Jackie Robinson Air Max. To start things off is the Air Max 1 ’86 Museum Masterpiece. Let’s dive into the Air Max history.
The Air Max 1 debuted in 1987 and was the groundbreaking shoe in the Air Max lineage. The Air Max 1 was the brainchild of Tinker Hatfield. Hatfield drew inspiration from the Pompidou Centre Paris. The Pompidou features an exposed skeletal unit, which is where he drew inspiration. This brought about the visible air cushioning.
This design provided enhanced comfort and became a defining aesthetic of the Air Max line. Today we have shoes like the vapormax that sport a full length visible air cushion. The Air Max 1’s sleek silhouette and vibrant colorways made it a must have in any rotation.
Throughout the 80’s and 90’s the Air Max solidified its place in the sneaker culture. On March 9th the Air Max 1 is becoming a work of art. Putting these on your feet will be like walking with a piece of art on your feet.
The upper is resembles marble with variations in the color and imperfections in the materials. The suede on the Swoosh complements the upper perfectly making the Air Max 1 a masterpiece. The slight contrast that hits on the mesh tongue and sock liner add a bright touch.
Other details include the insoles that pay homage to Tinker Hatfield and the shoe being a work of art. The foam midsole gives off marble vibes almost like stucco with its raised details. Expext this one to come in the specialblack and red box as well.
The Air Max 1 ’86 Mueseum Masterpiece will be available March 9th with a retail price tag of $170. It will be available on the SNKRS App and select Nike retailers like GBNY. Take a look at our review of the Jackie Robinson Air Max.
